“Specialist Russo,” General Armstrong inquired?

“Chosen.” The reply came from a shadow in the dark but Dr. Halixley knew it was Cpt. Morgan who spoke.     

It panged Dr. Halixley to hear her name. Of all the members of Alpha team she was the only female who had made the cut. The fierce Latina had wits as sharp as a knife and a violent streak to match. She could easily dispose of men twice her size. Of course to be a part of this mission and better yet a part of Alpha team you had to be the best and then better than the best. Every member of Alpha team was a former SEAL, Ranger, or Delta force.  They were tested physically and mentally for over two years, the torture they had to endure made Dr. Halixley’s stomach clench.

 

“Reason,” came the emotionless response from General Armstrong?

 

The answer came quick and prompt, “born again.”
